Tips for traveling

Prepare the trip

  • Before you book your flight we recommend you check public transport schedules or book our pick-up service.
  • The closest airports to K2 INTERNACIONAL are Jerez de la Frontera (XRY) and Sevilla (SQV). There are good connections by train or bus from the main Spanish cities (Madrid, Málaga, Barcelona)
  • Remember that the staff of K2 INTERNACIONAL are always there to attend to your needs before and during your stay in Cádiz. Baggage

  • Check the weather forecast for the duration of your stay in Cádiz. (link a algún sitio para mirar el tiempo o poner en el web)
  • Bring hygienic products for the first day of arrival, Cádiz is comparatively inexpensive and you will be able to pick up whatever you need locally saving you traveling with heavy baggage.
  • Remember to bring your own bed linen and towels if you book an apartment with us. If your baggage is too heavy, you can take advantage of our linen rental service.
  • Make sure you take all your required travel documents and the contact details for K2 INTERNACIONAL and your accommodation with you, especially the emergency telephone number.
  • Weigh your suitcase before you travel and avoid excess baggage charges at the airport.
  • If you are into sports such as surfing and cycling contact our course counsellor before departure. She will be able to tell you if you can rent equipment here locally so you do not have to bring your own.
  • Check if you need an adaptor for your electrical devices. Usually it is easy to find them in your country. In Spain we use 220v and the type of plug looks like this:

Money and credit cards

  • VISA is the commonly accepted credit card in the business world even though some establishments also accept American Express and Master Card.
  • If you have more than one credit card, we recommend you bring at least two and never keep them together. In the unlikely event of loss or robbery, you still have a credit card.
  • If you come from a country outside the Eurozone it is important to take EURO with you or exchange money at the airport as you cannot always pay by credit card.

Passport

  • Make sure that your Passport or Identity card is valid and is not due to expire before you make any bookings.
  • Even if you are from the European Union we recommend you bring your identity card and your Passport and keep them separately. In the unlikely event that you lose one of them you only have to cancel one document without having to apply for a new one in your embassy in order to travel.

Medical Insurance

  • We advise that you arrange international medical insurance for the duration of your stay. Keep in mind that if you have to see a doctor you will usually have to pay for the treatment in advance and then pass the invoice on to your insurance provider.
  • If you are from the EU, ask your doctor for the European Health Insurance Card (E111).
